What a holiday season this has been. sorry been away to long,but i think sleeping and eating is the best part of the holidays. happy birthday to my Grandma!! her actual birthday is Dec.31 but we had a cool slam for her on sat. soo fun. plus ya boy killed them all in SCRABBLE! check the word play, 75 points for "prequel". yea,iam a cold beast.lol. anyway '07 has been pretty good. not bad,not great,but damn good.we all had some ups and downs,but '08, we going ALL-IN!!! thats my new ish for the new year. ANYTHING you want to do,go for it,full on,cuz i for damn sure will! with that said,go out having fun. il try to get out to see my new fav band COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS for their new years party. as for me,i got tickets for new years at THE SPACE in DC. not to clubby,but just enough fun for the hipster in all of us.dont feel like dealing with "drunky hot girls" at downtown DC clubs.hottiest thing is,tickets are $75.But that ticket includes a premium open bar from 9pm to 5am including a champagne toast, food AND includes BREAKFAST around 4:30 and a DJ for the night. U turn on U street

Wow,thats pretty much all i can say about thurs night on U street in DC. such a fun mix of people,cultures and weirdos. about 8pm or so,i hopped off metro headed to BARN NUN for an event,(more on that bull ish later).emailed my homegirl CORY,what up babes,and told her to meet up with me once she left work. while i waited,i ran into the infamous BEN'S CHILI BOWL. mmmm,chili cheese fries!lol.i had them hold the beef and settled for cheese fries and a bomb ass chocolate malt shake.any given night,the folks in this spot can vary.i saw cops,hood niggas,ball players,hustlers,cuties,everybody.this spot is fun cause theres always some entertainment from people watchin,and if you aint knowin,the grub is super dope! after dinner and still waitin on CORY,i headed over to BAR NUN for a program called EXPOSURE THURSDAYS. keep in mind,the event is a club night,but they shine light on the urban scenes of fashion,music and art.this night just happened to be the latter,but no art was seen with my eyes.now il keep it funky with ya,when i went in there,it was like 945,almost 10pm,so things werent jumpin yet.but i asked one of the folks doing the event if this was it,and they said yeah.now first off the"artist" being featured is some photographer dude,dont remember his name and it dont matter. picture is blurry,but if you look below,you will see large white crappy paper tapped to wall across from dance floor. the guys photos,which sucked and werent really artistic,were showing on a slide show.WTF!!!!not impressed. if i wanted to just do a club i would have gone to IBIZA. anyhow,i ran out of there fast.the so called urban hipsters in there were not rockin it proper at all.sorry but yall get a D- for this one. so trying not to waste a good night on the U,i ran over to PALACE 5,where my dude JAY was closing up shop.i wanted to get some new HUNDREDS tees and check out the new SUPRA SKYTOPS,so he let me come on in,(good look my dude). got a chance to see what they got coming to the shop in early spring.trust me,GREG and the rest of the folks at P5 are doing it big.i finally got up with my girl CORY and went over to my man's restaurant CREME.very nice sexy laid back spot. had a few shots of SQUARE VODKA(google it snitches,lol) and then made our way to GW to see some friends.all and all it was a cool U street night.i was suppose to go see the boy WALE do his thing at FUR tonight but i felt like chillin.il catch up wit em at the show in VA next week. for now,its rest and holiday cheer.dont forget about sunday's slam for the kids.check page for info.till then,may you all be as cool as TOYA and the rest of the COOL KIDS CREW. happy holidays u smuts!

What a freakin weekend. first off,thank you very much to the dumb ass weather folks that worried me to death about the super snow storm that i never saw.quit your day job jerks! so because of afew slip ups on rental car company's part, i missed out on the Grown&Sexy party at 40/40 CLUB on friday night. no biggie,my homegirl told me Rihanna wasnt there anyway. so i took a mid day amtrak up to NY and met up wit a friend from VIBE magazine,what up Kelly! we ran through midtown for only 30 minutes,because i had to jump back on train to head to philly. if you play your cards right,you too can hustle two trips for the price of one out of amtrak. so once into Philly i tried to hit up some great friends but couldnt catch anyone.Luv you Fielders lol. SOUL AQUATICS didnt start till 9pm,so i jumped on transit and headed to UBIQ,pretty much the best bet for sneaker and street wear fiends in Philly. Once i got there, i warmed up alil and checked out all 2 floors of the space with Cris the shop manager. their selection of SB's were very nice.Shouts to Becky for helping me pick out some goods from UNDEFEATED and STUSSY,though the phone case didnt fit to well. got the call from my man DIZZY DI to get my ass to the show,shouts to rest of F.I.R.E PROD family too. so bout 9:20 i made it to World Cafe Live music venue for SOUL AQAUTICS 9. super shouts to RAHID and KEPA for making such a wonderful movement. everything from ill poets like KOM and LYRISPECT,to the soultry r&b of MS. Hipsters and Hugs

Ooo what fun it is to be uptown on a chilly thursday night in DC. While all the other club boys try not to spend all their rent money on drinks,the lil ladies freeze their assets off waiting in lines outside the new york avenue club strip. As for me,I'd rather be in a lounge setting where all can mingle and like minds meet. The opening night for KICKBALLER'S and MASON JAR'S "SAY WHAAAT" art expo was a great success. All the custom detailed and painted toys came out awesome. All the items after this weekend will be auctioned off on an ebay store,with all proceeds going to the DC FOOD BANK. There was plenty in attendance last night which made it fun. Shouts to my new buddy Lauren. The fellas from GRAND HIGH came through,along with DJ OSO FRESH and TITSWORTH spining all night. From the uptown law school hipsters to the south side sneakerheads,the collective of people was wonderful. I also finally got to get up with my super model,soon to be DC magazine exec friend Elle. We gets sooo crazy! The afterparty was nextdoor at MODERN,were we all really got it in. Bottles poppin',B boys breakin and the grown and sexy doing their thing. If you can,get onto the RSVP list and go checkout the artwork before the weekend is over. Who knew so much fun could turn into a helping hand for others. NYC/Philly,here I come. Fresher than fallen snow

So, how bout the big snow storm warning for the east coast this weekend. the same freakin weekend im headin to NYC and Philly!!! WTF! All i know is,if i get snowed in friday night while at the 40/40 club,.....Rihanna look out baby! Guess ill play it by ear but i gotta hit the road regardless. Got meetings to go to,and new folks to connect with. Since ill be on the scene all weekend,i thought i should grab some new sh*t so i could show off with the rest of 'em. I called up my big homie Deinde, one of the founders of DOPEVILLE,and got an invite to their private showroom in MD. only could take few pics,alot of their stuff hasnt hit the market yet.the other founder my man O, walked me through their new collection of tees,sneakers, skate decks and hoodies. talk about a kid in a candy shop! These guys have been grindin' since ' 04 straight out of D.C. they've killed it at Magic in Las Vegas and have items available at MAJOR in DC, GREYONE in LA and other boutiques worldwide.O explained to me how the business can have its good and bad though."alot of these artist and label guys really think we're gonna just send them free sh*t everytime they want some new items. i get calls 24/7 from big artist that brag about spendin cash,but want our hoodies for free". damn,guess even though folks talk about spendin bread,some people dont want to break bread. either way, these dudes have some of the ssiiicckkkiest street wear available.Hit up the site for more info and to get you some freshnessnessness. if you tryna get their exclusive new sh*t, like my Lil Champ hoodie that doesnt drop till '08,you better know somebody. later tonight is the art expo at KICKBALLERS. il getacha when i getacha.

Carlo and the fellas put togethor an arts fundraiser for kids charities. TALENT 2 THE MAX!!

Yup,im back,alil more rested i guess. Sooo this past sun was the 5th anniversary of Culture Shock DC at the Strathmnore Center in MD. Tooo siiiiccckkk! there are no words to express how talented these dancers are. a number of their members have been in soo many dance films like "Step up" and soon to be released "Step Up 2". Big shouts to Darius,Ryan,Joesar and mos def my angel AM!! The show went from hit the floor sickness,to lyrical hiphop meets ballet. you couldnt ask for more!!! true artform and true hiphop at its best. if you are a dancer,or think you can stick with these folks, next open try outs are this sunday the 9th. Their younger group, Future Shock is doing a Christmas Show on the 15th so hit them up to stay in the know. I should have pics soon so you can see what an experiance this group is. REEL TALK

Ok so,shouts first to the lovely Miss Brady who came from Hollywood to do PR on D.C's first quality feature film, "Jazz in the Diamond District". This invite only screening brought out all the usual suspects. Mister Chucky Thompson, who scored the film was in the building,along with LikeBlood Ent., which is an up and coming rap group from the city. Other guest ranged from UCB's Tre to Mr. Kong of SexyDC mag/tv. I truely wish i was able to have helped Miss Brandy get more press there,but as we know,D.C folks are hard to impress.Anyway,once inside the talented Lindsey Christian,who directed and produced the film thanked everyone for coming. She also informed us that the film will be going to a variety of film festivals very soon. Clifton Powell,one of the stars of the film and D.C native,got on the mic and called this event "Black Dollars in the makin' !". He was very pleased to be at the screening and supports the film 110%. Over all the film was pretty good. To have been set and filmed around The Chocolate City, by D.C folks,this film was damn good,and was excellent quality! You wont see a movie come out of this area with cinematagrophy as great as this film no time soon! Story wise,I hope those outside the Beltway can appreciate the lingo and the vibe of the movie. Regardless,everyone should walk away from this film loving something. Though it also stars Wood Harris of "The Wire",this was not a Go-GO, gangsta flick, i repeat,NOT A BUM ASS GANGSTA FLICK! I wont give to much away,but i will give big respect to the real life sisters that own SoBLu Productions and released this film. Check out more for yourself at the site. Ok so it took some doing but i made my way "Up Top" to catch the "IT TAKES 2" party at Aura nightclub. Shouts to Mr.Mauricio that did his thing on the tables,but my girl Nicole, one half of NINASKY did her thing!! i had seen them perform before and heard them record.Yes they had a poppy sound with their first hit,but these ladies are talented! While sister Natalie rocks the mic,her sis Nicole got ssiiicckk on the Serato and real turntables.
